How To Configure UCWeb To Work With BlackBerry BIS

UC Browser on BlackBerry

UC Browser on BlackBerry

I received a message from a user yeaterday. He told me he couldn’t download some files from the download section of NaijaTechzone.com. I asked about his phone and browser. He told me uses BlackBerry Curve 2. This has been a problem for users of BlackBerry OS5 and earlier versions.
I wrote on that in one of my earlier articles that you can find REQUEST ENTITY TOO LARGE ON BB BROWSER

If you are using OS5 on your BlackBerry, you will have problems of “file too large” when you want to download.

There are 2 solutions to this:

1. Upgrade to OS6
2. Use Opera or UCweb but I prefer UCweb

Follow the following steps to configure UCweb to work with BIS. It is set by default to work with wap which deducts your credit.

•Launch your UC browser
•Select “Menu ”
•Scroll down to “Settings”. Select it.
•Scroll to “Switch Access point” like in the following screenshot:

•Select “BIS” from the options
•Select “OK” and You are Good to go!

SHARE THIS WITH THE FACEBOOK AND TWITTER BUTTONS. YOU CAN ALSO SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS ON BBM (IF YOU ARE USING BB BROWSER TO VIEW THIS PAGE) BY PRESSING “P” ON YOUR KEYBOARD, THEN CLICK “SEND ADDRESS”, THEN CHOOSE “BBM CHAT”, SELECT THE CONTACTS AND THAT’S ALL! THANK YOU
